Skagit Storytellers

De: Liz Duffy
  • Resumen

  • Skagit Storytellers is a podcast that's dedicated to entertaining the people who are recording it. If anyone else enjoys the episodes, that's cool too. There is no agenda, a lot of exaggerating and probably shouldn't be taken seriously.
Recorded in several locations around the Skagit Valley.
Skagit Storytellers is a subsidiary of 217 Digital LLC.

  • S03 Ep023: Chad Henry
    Apr 2 2025

Chad Henry came over to the studio earlier this year to chat about life and his music. Find out how he found his bandmates, playing covers in Central Park, his Oklahoma day and what brought him to the west coast. Most importantly, experience the moment we became best friends over our mutual love and respect for Roger Clyne. We quote lyrics from a Peacemakers song (Lemons):

    "Bring on the change
    let's keep it simple now
don't confuse your wants with your needs.
    Believe in Love,
    Forsake your greed,
And give away what you want to receive."

These words are displayed on my classroom door. I hope that students and staff read them often as they pass.

Chad's band doesn't play that often, so be sure to check them out on 5/16 at the Shakedown with Seattle's Jaws of Brooklyn and Bellingham's Asa Menlove. They are recording at Spare Records in Anacortes (and you can too! Find them at Sparerecords.com).

  • S03 Ep022: Jennifer Dalton
    Mar 26 2025

Jennifer Dalton was a colleague of mine until she resigned from her position to set sail around North and South America to conduct research. From their website, oneislandoneocean.com:

    Quote

The Around the Americas Expedition is a 14-month voyage, starting in May 2025, that will circumnavigate North and South America aboard the 48-foot sailboat, One Ocean.

The mission focuses on scientific research, education, and community outreach to raise awareness about ocean health. Building on Captain Mark Schrader’s original 2009–2010 journey, the expedition will compare oceanic changes over the past 15 years.

Check out their site to donate, connect live and learn more about their journey. This podcast was fun to record with Jennifer, and I am so thankful that she trusted me to publish part of her amazing life story. If you can glean anything from this episode, I hope it's that you pause and reflect today on the direction your life is going.

  • S03 Ep021: Andy Brown
    Mar 19 2025

Andy Brown visited my studio two weeks ago. It's rare to have an episode get published after two weeks (especially with 15 recordings in the queue), but that's one word to describe my guest: rare! No one can hold a candle to Andy Brown and the incredible projects he's been apart of, The amount of stories he brings to the table is endless. Learn about his parents, musical journey and hear us speak from the heart about our local music scene. Find Andy at a show (probably helping set up, do sound or pack up, even if he's not playing) and tell him how much you appreciate his contribution to our community. Follow The Enthusiasts to see where his current band is playing next.

Enjoy your week, be of use, and go do something hard.
