This week it's been the last round of matches in divisions one, two and three of the O60s competition and with the exception of some replays next week, in division one of the O70s competition.

The fifth and final match in the Grey Ashes series ended in a last ball tie! The series thus finishes 2-2 which means Australia retain the Grey Ashes.

England batted first for the first time in the series and made 269. Then it rained, for a long time. Finally the Australian innings got underway with a DLS target of 194 in 26 overs.

At 7/2 the Aussies were in trouble but man of the series Darren Smith, who had cancelled his flight home because of the rain delay, strode in and made 97.

It came down to 7 needed off the last over and Kev Watson took wickets with the first two balls. 3 were needed off the ball and two made - so a tie!

Plus we round up all the matches played across the O70s 3 Divisions on Thursday July 24th and we catch up with Ron Hedley.

Australia went 1-0 up in the Grey Ashes with a 44 run win in the first ODI in the best of five series.

We review the match and the crucial period when England sitting comfortable at 106/0 collapsed to 130/6. We also look ahead to the 2nd ODI on Monday July 7th.

We discuss the narrow defeat for the England Lions v Australia plus the Scotland v Australia match played on July 2nd as well as our usual round up of the O60s and O70s county championships.

And while we record a really tight finish was building up between Australia and the England Lions in their second game.

The Grey Ashes series is best of five spread over four weeks with the final match, the fifth ODI on the 24th of July at Royal Ascot Cricket club

Australia regained the Grey Ashes at the end of 2024 with a 3 - 2 win on home ground so England will be very keen to win back the Grey Ashes.
