Ru in Rudra is equal to Ra the great sun god of ancient Egypt who was the head of the reincarnation cult. Dra is Tra or Thor, the heavenly cow. Since the female suffix is regular for male demons, the original root is Ra, therefore Rudra is Ra himself.
