This week, again, I didn’t know what to say.

Steven asked me this morning what I decided to talk about and I said “The same thing I talk to you about everyday.”

He immediately said “So, what? You did a podcast about Schitt’s Creek. How is that spiritual?”

I said "Yes. It’s a socio-political commentary.”

“So you’re doing another show about politics.”

“It actually had a surprisingly philosophical message!”

I didn’t know where this episode was going until I started talking.

I’m sharing my personal rules for managing outrage and disengaging from toxic online social interactions.

This is definitely a do as I say, not as I do kind of directive...

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to manage outrage; however, the longer I practice these rules of engagement, the more useful they prove to be.

I hope this will give you some constructive perspective or specific strategies you can either borrow or adapt. I feel like these are flexible enough to be used online or off, with family members, with social media acquaintances, and with virtual strangers.
