Sheriff, and Police Chief, hail synagogue security officers as "heroes"

West Bloomfield Police Chief Dale Young, and Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, say the actions of Temple Israel’s security officers saved “countless lives.” Lt. Danny Phillips, who retired from the Bloomfield Hills Public Safety Department last year and now serves as Director of Security at Temple Israel, was the one who stopped the attacker in his tracks.
