Episode 9 — The Hinterkaifeck Murders

Bavaria, Germany. March 1922.

In the days before the murders, strange things began happening on an isolated farm known as Hinterkaifeck. Footprints appeared in the snow leading toward the farmhouse — but none leading away. The family reported hearing unexplained noises in the attic. And a house key mysteriously went missing.

Then, sometime during the night, six people living on the farm were brutally murdered.

The victims included the Gruber family, two young children, and a maid who had arrived to begin work only hours before the attack.

But the mystery deepened even further when neighbours noticed something disturbing in the days after the killings.

Smoke continued rising from the chimney.

The animals were still being fed.

Someone appeared to still be living on the farm.

Episode 8 — The Dyatlov Pass Incident

Ural Mountains, Soviet Union. February 1959.

Nine experienced hikers set out on a winter expedition across one of the most remote mountain regions in Russia. Led by Igor Dyatlov, the group was well trained and fully prepared for the harsh conditions of the journey.

But when they failed to return home, a search team was sent into the mountains.

What rescuers discovered shocked investigators.

The hikers’ tent had been cut open from the inside. Their boots, supplies, and belongings were still inside. Yet the group had fled into the freezing wilderness in the middle of the night, many of them without proper clothing.

Over the following weeks, the bodies of the hikers were discovered scattered across the snow-covered landscape. Some had died from exposure, while others showed unexplained injuries that investigators struggled to explain.

More than sixty years later, the Dyatlov Pass Incident remains one of the most mysterious cases in modern history.

Episode 7 — The JonBenét Ramsey Mystery

Boulder, Colorado. December 26th, 1996.

On the morning after Christmas, a family awoke to every parent’s worst nightmare. A six-year-old girl had disappeared from her bedroom, and a ransom note demanding $118,000 had been left inside the house.

The girl was JonBenét Ramsey.

What initially appeared to be a kidnapping quickly turned into something far more disturbing when JonBenét’s body was discovered inside the family home only hours later.

The investigation that followed became one of the most controversial murder cases in modern history. Police examined the ransom note, forensic evidence from the house, and multiple theories about what might have happened that night. As media attention grew, the case divided investigators and the public alike.
