Season 3 Episode 18 - Puffin Penis Pudding

Ryan's back from Iceland! DAMMIT! We were praying the iceberg would win!

But unfortunately, Ryan survived his transatlantic adventure and returned to the Repressed Humor Issues microphone with stories, opinions, and the same chaotic energy that has made this comedy podcast both beloved and feared since 2023.

In Season 3 Episode 18 — Puffin Penis Pudding — Ryan and Dan discuss the pressing issues of the day. And by "pressing issues," we mean: how much Ryan hates pudding (Communist), how much Ryan's husband hates the cold (Communist), and why Ryan can't get close to puffin babies (also Communist). The communist label gets thrown around with the reckless abandon of someone who has clearly never read Marx but has strong feelings about dessert.

It's the kind of political commentary that would make every polisci professor weep — whether from laughter or despair is up to the listener. Ryan's Iceland stories provide some of the best content of the season. From encounters with puffins — the adorable, stumpy little birds that Ryan apparently cannot be trusted around — to the general experience of being an American abroad, the travel segment is genuinely hilarious. It's like Anthony Bourdain meets a guy who shouldn't be allowed out of the country.

The conversation then takes a hard left into military hostage situations in DC, because apparently you can't have an episode of Repressed Humor Issues without at least ONE discussion about current events that makes everyone uncomfortable. From there, the guys somehow land on why harbor porpoises are basically the lot lizards of the sea — acomparison that is simultaneously disgusting, inaccurate, and unexpectedly convincing.

And it all ends with Anal Biotics. That's not a typo. That's not a brand name. That is where this episode ends up, and nobody — including the hosts — can explain how they got there. Dan just writes the descriptions. Don't blame him. He's just as confused as you are, and significantly more traumatized.
