In this episode we get into the actual manufacturing process and discuss scientific molding with our guest, Kyle Staffhorst. Named by Plastics News as a "Rising Star" within the plastics industry, Kyle is a process engineer trainee at PTI. Using the scientific injection molding (SIM) workbook as a guide, a series of mold, machine, and material tests are performed press-side in order to capture real-time data that will then allow Kyle and his team to refine and improve the base process.
