Saved before we're commanded: Exodus 19 -20:17

Before God gives the law, He first reveals Himself as a saving God calling His people out of bondage and into covenant relationship. In Exodus 19 through 20:17, we see God prepare Israel to meet Him, and then give the Ten Commandments as a response to His mercy.
