Sally Bassett + Wu Zetian

Becca here! It is just me today and I want to talk about two women from different time periods and different parts of the world. Sally Bassett was an enslaved woman in Bermuda in the 1700's, when white slave owners were fearful of being poisoned. Many enslaved women of the day were considered suspect of poisoning and even witchcraft. She, too would be accused and executed for such crimes, but did she even do what they said?

Wu Zentian was the first and only woman to lead China in her own right in the 600s AD. The ambitious empress started in the palace as a consort when she was fourteen. Let's dive into how she rose to the top with her charisma, cruelty, and poison. There is plenty of drama in this one.
