Tonight we discuss a NYT article by Maxine Joselow "Trump's E.P.A. Has Put a Value on Human Life: Zero Dollars (https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/21/climate/epa-human-life-value.html). This article describes a recent decision on PM 2.5 and Ozone that did an cost-benefit analyses that essentially placed the value of a "statistical life" at zero and focussed on the cost to business. This is a fantastically written article that actual does a deep-dive in a subject that we need to know about.

I believe the decision by the EPA might be the most significant change in policy in recent memory and might have broad implications across the board for C/B analyses.

1. The church attack in St. Paul yesterday and the clergy that are not calling for peace, understanding, forgiveness and many other things in this situation.
2. Trying to understand the two medical philosophies that are becoming very apparent to even the casual observers.
3. Jim laments VA policy and societal policy of putting mentally ill people who need treatment and help into the community where they often do not have treatment and help and end up as homeless. They should be treating people with dignity and respect and take care of our Veterans, not put them in a situation where they are highly likely to fail.
