  • A SPIRIT GOD NEVER GIVES YOU

A SPIRIT GOD NEVER GIVES YOU
    2 Timothy 1:7
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

One of the most misunderstood things in the Christian life for many at least, is Spiritual Warfare.
Here we see that a spirit is being offered, but it is not from God. That is the entire concept of Spiritual Warfare. Daily we are offered certain things that will dictate the direction of our day.
Here we see it is the spirit of fear.

  • THE MIND YOU HAVE

    The Mind of Christ
    1 Corinthians 2:16
“For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”

There are days when my thoughts feel noisy—pulled in too many directions at once. Decisions stack up, emotions weigh heavy, and the world seems determined to shape how I think. In moments like that, this verse gently calls me back to something deeper, something steadier: we have the mind of Christ.

  • MOVING WITH THE RIGHT WIND

    Listening for the Right Wind
    1 John 4:1
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…”

There are moments when I sit outside my house and watch the pine trees that line the yard. Most days they stand tall and steady, but every once in a while the wind picks up. When a straight wind blows through, every tree bends the same way. They may sway, but they agree. They move together. There is order to it.
But when the wind starts swirling, it’s a different story. One tree leans east, another west. Branches twist. Needles shake. Nothing feels settled. Nothing feels clear. That kind of wind brings movement, but not direction.
John tells us in 1 John 4:1 not to believe every spirit, but to test them, to discern whether they are truly from God.

  • ABOUNDING GRACE
    Jan 7 2026
    Abounding Grace
    2 Corinthians 9:8
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”

There is something deeply comforting in the words “God is able.” Not that God might provide, or could provide, but that He is able to provide.
Paul reminds us that God is not limited by our circumstances, our resources, or even our understanding. He is fully capable of making all Grace abound toward us.
Abound means to overflow, to be in great supply, or to increase beyond what is merely enough.

  • THE FREEDOM TO SLOW DOWN
    Jan 5 2026
    THE FREEDOM TO SLOW DOWN
Today we continue together on “The Journey to Spiritual Freedom.”

Spiritual freedom is not usually found in one specific moment—it is formed through our daily choices.
One of the most important choices is when we meet with Jesus.
There is something sacred about the early morning. Before the noise starts. Before the weight of the day presses in. Before the world tells us who we need to be and what burdens we need to carry.

    Romans 6:16
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

  • WHERE REAL FREEDOM BEGINS
    Jan 2 2026
    WHERE REAL FREEDOM BEGINS

As we step into a New Year, many of us are hoping for freedom—from worry, guilt, fear, anxiety, regret, past mistakes, emotional heaviness, feeling overwhelmed, or feeling stuck in spiritual ruts. We long to breathe again. We long to live lighter. We long to feel joy that lasts.
That longing is real—but Scripture reminds us where that kind of freedom truly comes from.
