Acerca de esta escucha
Welcome to the latest episode of How Could We?, recorded live at the ChangeNOW summit in Paris - an event focused on showcasing sustainable solutions and profiling sustainability leaders making an impact.
This week, Anne-Sophie Garrigou interviews Eytan Levi, Co-Founder of Roofscapes. Focused on adapting existing roofs and buildings to a changing climate, Roofscapes uses timber platforms to make previously untapped roofs shadier and greener, thereby reducing thermal discomfort, increasing biodiversity anchors, and offering new outdoor spaces in cities.
Eytan talks about how an inspiration for founding Roofscapes was his Paris upbringing, how timber platforms can dramatically reduce temperatures - even during heatwaves - the importance of involving people who live in the buildings Roofscapes works on, and invites listeners to visit Roofscapes’ pilot project at L’Académie du Climat in Paris.

This episode is part of Climate KIC’s #LiveableCities Campaign 2025, which highlights our leadership in transforming cities across Europe into climate-resilient, just, and regenerative places. Through initiatives like NetZeroCities, CitiES 2030, Climathon, EIT Community New European Bauhaus and the Pilot Cities Programme, we support local governments and communities in creating scalable solutions to tackle climate challenges. By showcasing diverse approaches - from citizen engagement and innovative financing to sustainable mobility and urban heat mitigation - this campaign amplifies the stories behind the systems change we’re helping to orchestrate.
