There they meet Rictavio, an eccentric half‑elf carnival ringmaster with a flair for outrageous tales… though something about him suggests there’s more beneath the surface.

After a much‑needed rest, Jim rejoins the group, guided back by a vision from Lathander. But morning in Vallaki quickly shatters any illusion of safety. The Baron’s rule proves anything but benevolent, and the party witnesses Izek Strazni—his volatile enforcer—publicly dragging an elderly woman through the streets in a display of brutal authority.
