  • Talking BrewDog Being Pulled, Could This Be Trouble?
    Sep 4 2025

In this episode of the Rod J BeerVentures Podcast, I bring you a replay of a recent YouTube broadcast where I broke down one of the biggest stories in the UK beer world right now. BrewDog, the Scottish brewer once seen as the face of craft beer, has had its beers pulled from nearly two thousand pubs across Britain. That includes their flagship Punk IPA, which has seen a 52 percent drop in tap placements.

During this broadcast I shared the details behind why this is happening. From rising costs that are squeezing pubs everywhere, to BrewDog reporting heavy financial losses, to competitors like Camden Town and Beavertown stepping in to take market share, this is a story that shows how quickly things can shift in the beer industry. I also touched on public sentiment, with some drinkers saying BrewDog has lost its edge and no longer feels as punk as it once did.

Right now BrewDog is leaning heavily on their deal with Wetherspoon pubs, but if that changes, Punk IPA and other BrewDog beers could disappear from taps across the UK.

Tune in to hear the full discussion and get my take on whether this is just a rough patch for BrewDog or the start of a longer decline.
