entertaining but uses a lot of false info

one thing that really made me realize the info in this podcast isn't very well researched is the claim "medical negligence/mistakes are the third largest cause of death in the US." there was a study which claimed this but was extremely flawed so no one paid any attention. it was then said in an episode of Grey's anatomy and became a popular urban myth because of this popular TV episode. if you look at the actual study this claim comes from you'd see it wasnt a study per se as much as it was an academic review. it used studies looking at vulnerable populations like elderly folks in nursing homes and expanded that data and claimed it represented the entire US.
