Psalm 18:2
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
One day during my prayer time, I began to take inventory of my life - reflecting on where I've been, how far I've come, and where I am today. I felt this overwhelming sense of gratitude and appreciation. None of this could have been possible without God! And during this time of reflection, I thanked God for all He's provided and given to me. I thought: "Who am I to complain about what I don't have?" -- if what I have is EXACTLY what God wants me to have right now, in this season.
I began to thank God for His spiritual gift and the passion I have for creating things, using my talents and skills He has given me. I had to think about that for a minute: ALL my desires, what I'm passionate about, what I love to do -- ALL came from Him! God began to nurture that from my early childhood to today -- and He continues to do just that: nurture my desires. How do I know? When I look back at our family history, there isn't much in the line of journalists, broadcast journalism, podcast hosts, streamers, digital creators, etc., in our family. Granted, much of this is fairly new and modern, but there isn't much of that in our family. So I count it all joy knowing the desire to do all of this stems from God simply saying, "YES, you can!"
I had a vision of someone standing on the shores of a beach or lake and throwing rocks into the water so that the rocks were skimming the surface - essentially rock skipping. And Go'd message to me was: For each "skip" = God sustaining me step-by-step. The stone doesn't float forever -- but God keeps it going longer than expected. Like grace carrying me through multiple trials. So the message is: "WHAT SHOULD SINK...MOVES YOU FORWARD WHEN GOD IS INVOLVED."
