Welcome to a becoming-space. A place for imperfectly ready people to say yes to more Jesus and actual friendships with their neighbors. A place for introverts and workaholics and people-pleasers and self-doubters. Welcome, welcome, if that's you! I get that pull you feel to go deeper. Find purpose, meaningful conversations, community. I also get how you think you're not ready. Want to know a secret?! None of us are, least of all me! Also true is that we BECOME ready after, not before, we say yes. Yes to baby steps that deepen relationships and let God spill out everywhere. Yes to becoming more curious, more approachable, more moldable in the tender hands of Jesus. It's a process. A beautiful, becoming process where we look less and less like we used to and more and more like Him.The Uncommon Normal Ciencias Sociales Espiritualidad Relaciones

  • 245 - How to Define Amen: What You Need to Know About Faith
    Mar 17 2026

Amen isn't an ending, but an acknowledgement that God can be counted on. It's agreement with what already beats in the heart of our Lord. It's coming alongside God's already, willingly-spoken "yes."

  • 244 - What Happens When You Are Seen in the In-Between
    Mar 10 2026

Down in the unseen recesses of our mind, we worry we aren't seen. That our superhero power is being invisible, although no one asked if that's what we wanted.

We walk around lonely, longing for the assurance that we matter, trying to reconcile the breach between life right now and as it will be, when everything finally makes sense.

We get partial perspective this side of heaven. "Only part of the big picture," Paul says (1Corinthians 13:12).

I realize that everything I know is only part of the big picture. But one day, when Jesus arrives, we will see clearly, face-to-face.

    The Voice

And this slice of right-now? It feels raw some days. Unfair, often times. Can a distant promise soften the ache in between the now and Jesus coming again to right the wrongs and reveal what we don't yet know and replace our loneliness with knownness?

There is a day coming when the heart of every human will be revealed. On that day, all we long to know will be unlocked. We'll have peace–and all the puzzle pieces.

But Paul tells us we don't have to wait until then to be cradled in the gaze of God. Today, and every day in between now and eternity, we are already seen. As the verse continues,

In that day, I will fully know just as I have been wholly known by God.

    1 Corinthians 13:12, The Voice

Even when you're overlooked by the people around you, you are noticed by the God of the universe.

Even when other people misunderstand you, you are "wholly known" by God.

Even when you're surrounded by instability, struggling with insecurity, or seeking answers, you are secure with the One who sees you.

What happens when you know in the depths of your soul that you are seen? Security. Surrender. Solidarity. Let's unpack them together.

  • 243 - How to Make Hearing God's Voice Over the Noise Easier
    Mar 3 2026

Sometimes all the things in your head get really loud. You're anxious over everything imagined and irrational. Your self-set expectations make you feel small, and in the tangle of untruths toying with your mind, you've got to remind yourself that hearing God's voice isn't for the ultra-spiritual alone. It's for the worn-out worriers, the willful wanderers, the wisdom-deficient, and the opportunity wasters. For those spiritually "in training," as my pastor says.
