Welcome to EPISODE 100 of Retrotopia: Another Video Game Podcast. This is a show where we, Alan, Brian, and Sam, get together to discuss video games from years gone by. We like to look at video games from the perspective of lifelong gamers and how they hold up in the retro sphere.

This week we are discussing Super Mario Bros. 2, a NES game released in 1988 that took the Mario series in a bold new direction, swapping out the usual stomping on Goombas for picking up and throwing vegetables, enemies, and objects. Unlike its predecessor, it let players choose between Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Toadstool, each with unique abilities, as they journeyed through the dreamlike world of Subcon to defeat the villainous Wart.
