This week, we continue our Mike Flanagan Rewind series with Episode 6 of The Haunting of Bly Manor.

Flashbacks reveal Henry’s affair with Charlotte, his brother Dominic’s wife—and the shocking truth that he is Flora’s biological father. When Dominic uncovers the betrayal, he cuts Henry out of their lives, claiming Flora as his own before he and Charlotte embark on a doomed trip to India. In the present, Henry drowns his guilt in alcohol, ignoring Dani’s desperate calls as Flora begins behaving strangely and drifting through unsettling dreamlike “time hops.” Within these visions, Flora encounters Charlotte, a faceless child, and the ghost of Rebecca, who manipulates her night after night. Dani finally sees the truth for herself when she comes face to face with Rebecca and Peter’s spirits—but before she can escape with Flora, Miles violently intervenes.

Past and present blur as Hannah drifts through memories—some real, some imagined. She recalls interviewing Owen for the cook position, the night of the bonfire when he invited her to Paris, and a haunting moment from Rebecca’s time at the manor when she caught Peter stealing. But the past holds more than memories. One night, Peter is killed by the mysterious Lady in the Lake and returns as a ghost, discovering he can possess young Miles. When Hannah sees Peter speaking through the boy, it’s already too late—Peter forces Miles to push her into the well, killing her. Unaware of her own death, Hannah continues to walk the manor grounds… until Dani’s arrival begins to unravel the truth. At the episode’s end, the bonfire scene plays again—but this time, we see it for what it truly is: Hannah’s final goodbye.
