Al-Karim Hood was born on April 6, 1973 in East Orange, NJ at East Orange General Hospital and raised in Newark, NJ. As a kid he always loved acting and would do impersonations of people on the radio and television. He learned at an early age he could change his voice.

His mother is a Fashion Designer and he participated in many of her fashion shows and productions. It was there he realized he “Loved the spotlight.” As a teenager he fell in love with music and formed the group Hood Dynasty, consisting of his brother and two cousins all with the last name Hood. Later his music journey led him to a solo career where he scored two record deals, one in the U.S. and the other in Brazil. Unfortunately, both record deals did not work out. However, he never lost his love for music or entertainment. He later would re-invent himself and go to his original love of acting. He became a self-taught actor, writer, director, producer, editor and music scorer for all of his productions.

G4 Jag (John Ahmed Guilford), Harlem-born and Rochester-based, is a powerful voice in the underground hip-hop revival. A survivor of 9/11, his “survivor talk” blends cinematic, lo-fi production with gritty storytelling delivered in a resonant baritone.

His breakthrough project, The Survivors (2019), executive-produced by Flee Lord, paired haunting atmospherics with razor-sharp bars, gaining attention from key hip-hop platforms and tastemakers. Follow-up releases — including Scriptures in the Sky (with The Musalini) and Regressions (produced by Mephux) — further solidified his reputation for unfiltered lyricism and brooding sonic landscapes.

G4 Jag is affiliated with Flee Lord’s LORD MOBB and leads his own creative collective, Fly Family. His collaborations include Flee Lord, Roc Marciano, Planet Asia, 38 Spesh, Vic Spencer, Big Twins, T.F., ETO, 9th Wonder, Snowgoons, Musalini, and Dough Networkz. He has performed in New York, Los Angeles, Houston, and Rochester, with radio support from Hot 97’s Real Late with Peter Rosenberg and SiriusXM’s Shade 45.

In 2025, G4 Jag is set to release ALIVE!, a full-length album entirely produced by award-winning Canadian producer IM’PERETIV. With growing momentum from the Live From The Gutta performance at the Rochester International Jazz Fest after-party and an upcoming Overtime Hustlin Magazine cover feature, this project marks a new chapter for G4 Jag.

Norfolk, VA’s own DeAngelo Xavier blends thought-provoking bars with a Boom Bap backbone. Since releasing his debut WhiteWalls in 2016, he has been building a catalog rich with vivid street imagery and sharp social commentary. Channeling influences like Nas, DeAngelo has crafted a distinct voice rooted in authenticity and lyricism.

His grind has taken him onto stages with Benny The Butcher, Conway, and Smif-N-Wessun, earning his stripes from the DMV to the global underground scene.
