Rakhel Israel - Percussionist

Rakhel Israel is a DC-based percussionist. During our Harmonic Heart Interview, she outlined her musical/percussion journey. She described the spiritual, meditative, and renewing effects she experiences from percussion. As drumming is Rakhel's destiny, she feels a spiritual connection from this gift from God and feels affirmed because drumming has enabled her to connect with humans from various cultures across the world. She also spoke about how drumming has connected her to her heritage. Rakhel shared highlights of her drumming journey such as studying under master drummers during international travels and teaching children about drumming. Included in the interview were two of Rakhel's mentors, Ms. Allison Key and Ms. Elisabeth. Interview recorded on 2/3/2021.
