K-State Secures Bowl Eligibility with Win Over Colorado The Kansas State Wildcats clinched bowl eligibility for the fifth consecutive season, defeating the Colorado Buffaloes 24-14 in Manhattan on a cold, blustery Senior Day (November 29, 2025). The win brings the Wildcats' final regular-season record to 6-6 (5-4 Big 12). Joe Jackson was the offensive catalyst, rushing for 142 yards and all three K-State touchdowns against a surprisingly stout Colorado defense. Jackson's late 17-yard score with 2:34 left in the fourth quarter secured the victory after the Buffaloes cut the lead to 17-14. Colorado, concluding its season at 3-9 (1-8 Big 12), kept the game close behind two rushing touchdowns from Micah Welch. Despite outgaining the Wildcats in total yardage (323-321), the Buffaloes struggled to convert drives into points. K-State quarterback Avery Johnson managed the difficult conditions, passing for 115 yards. The hard-fought win, which took the Wildcats' season tally to the minimum six wins needed for bowl consideration, was a critical finish to what has been described as a turbulent, injury-plagued season for the program. K-State now awaits its bowl destination.
