  • Message | Paul's Farewell Instructions to Timothy (2 Timothy 4:9-22)
    Oct 6 2025

Paul ends with a flurry of personal instructions and greetings. This is a reminder to us that Paul was a real person, who lived in a real time in community with real people. Among the many names in this text we find people who have helped Paul along the way and those who have hurt him. What is the hard thing God has called you to do? If you only have God with you to do it, is that enough?

  • Message | Equipped by the Word (2 Timothy 3:10-17)
    Sep 21 2025

While the false teachers are deceiving and being deceived, Paul reminds Timothy that it doesn’t have to be the case for him. Timothy was discipled by Paul himself and had a front row seat to witness Paul's life and ministry up close, both the good and the bad. Timothy got to see God at work in spectacular ways.

  • Message | Trademark of Terrible Times (2 Timothy 3:1-9)
    Sep 15 2025

In this teaching, we dive into Paul's sobering warning to Timothy about the rise of false teachers and the dangerous attitudes that will characterize people in the "last days." According to Paul, this era spans from Christ’s ascension to His eventual return—and we are living in it now.

Paul doesn’t hold back. He gives a list of 19 specific actions and attitudes that will become more and more prevalent. These traits weren’t just for some distant future—they were already threatening the church in Ephesus, and they still plague our world today.

One of the most chilling indictments Paul gives is that these people will have a “form of godliness but deny its power.”

They may sound spiritual. Look spiritual. Study deeply. But they are not transformed. They are void of the Spirit of God, and their faith is ultimately rejected—not because they rejected faith, but because true Faith rejected them.
