  • Episode 4 - Clients Are More Flexible Than It Seems
    Apr 5 2024
In any treatment making clients more resilient should be an important goal. But to work provocatively you really need to believe that people are more flexible than it seems. Otherwise it will be hard for you to offer your clients challenge. In the episode of today I'll discuss the work of Viktor Frankl, founder of the Logo Therapy. If you have any comments, questions or request you can post them underneath the podcast episode or you can contact Federico via his website https://terapiaprovocativa.es or via his email: info@terapiaprovocativa.es. In a future episode he will attend to your reactions. • Episode 7 - Loosing The Structure
    Oct 12 2022
In this last episode on the provocative assumption I'm honored to have a talk with the founder of the provocative assumptions, Dutch clinical psychologist and provocative pioneer Jaap Hollander. With him I discuss provocative assumption 7: If the therapist loses the structure during the session, the client will bring it back and will get to the core by himself. For once, I will be letting go of my own structure in this podcast and just jump into the conversation with Jaap. We also discuss other assumptions, the role of humor and the importance of scientific research in the field. A new series of podcast will follow soon in which I am going to talk with colleagues in the field of clinical psychology, psychotherapy and family therapy about topics such as humor in psychotherapy, depression, anxiety or other disorders, on sexuality, taboos and myths, and all the other interesting topics that affect our work. Of course, I will dedicate episodes to the research results for my Ph.D. thesis from time to time. I will look for interesting people, but you could help me by advising me who I need to invite according to you. If you have any comments, questions or request you can post them underneath the podcast episode or you can contact me via my website https://terapiaprovocativa.es or via his email: info@terapiaprovocativa.es. In a future episode I will attend to your reactions. • Episode 6 - Clients Always Have An Inner Conflict
    Sep 9 2022
This is episode 6 of the podcast series about the provocative assumptions. And this is one of the important ones, because it explains very well why I choose to work provocatively and it explains where I get all the arguments from to continue challenging my clients in the role as the devil's advocate. Today I have the honor to have an interview with Belgian psychiatrist, psychotherapist and family therapist Christophe Panichelli. He works provocatively himself and has done research on the role of humor in psychotherapy. If you have any comments, questions or request you can post them underneath the podcast episode or you can contact Federico via his website https://terapiaprovocativa.es or via his email: info@terapiaprovocativa.es. In a future episode he will attend to your reactions. If you would like to read the book about the Provocative Therapy you can find it on amazon and on: https://fa-editorial.com/editorial-articles/psychology-psychiatry/provocative-therapy-book
