Protecting the Gospel

In the opening message of our new series Passing the Torch: Faith Handed Down, we begin our journey through 1 Timothy by looking at Paul’s charge to Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:1–11. Paul writes not to win theological debates, but to protect the health of the church and the clarity of the gospel. This sermon explores why sound doctrine matters, how the law is meant to reveal our need for grace, and why faith in Jesus, not performance, is what makes us right with God. As we start this series, we’re invited to reflect on what kind of faith we are carrying—and what kind of faith we are passing on to others.
