  • The Profiling Evil Podcast delves into unsolved criminal cases from around the world. We look into the mind of the predator and talk about crime motivation, victim selection and behavior. Some episodes examine how investigators work and how they capitalize on mistakes made by the offender.

    Your host, Mike King, retired after a distinguished law enforcement career where he served as Chief of Staff to Utah Attorney General Jan Graham and Weber County Attorney Reed M. Richards. He learned policing in the Ogden Utah Police Department where he served in patrol, traffic (motors) enforcement and SWAT. As an investigator, he led task forces and pursued serial predators throughout his career.

    He served as co-chair of the FBI’s ViCAP (Violent Criminal Apprehension Program) National Advisory Board and as Director of UTAP, the Utah Criminal Tracking and Analysis Project. During the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, he worked in the intelligence section.

    After retirement from public service, he went to work at Environmental Systems Research Institute where he consulted with law enforcement around the world on intelligence gathering, real-time crime reporting and major event management. He retired in 2024 to pursue Profiling Evil fulltime.

    Mike is an internationally recognized speaker and trainer, adjunct professor and visiting scholar at several accredited universities. He is a violent crimes and criminal behavior subject-matter expert who has authored, “Deceived, An Investigative Memoir of the Zion Society Cult," "She Knew No Fear," “Who Killed King Tut?,” “Predators, Who Are They and How Do We Stop Them?” and “Profilers.”

Trustworthy and Interesting True Crime discussions

Already a big fan of Profiling Evil from YouTube fame. Enjoy listening on my commutes to work.

As someone not in law enforcement, I appreciate how Mr. King explains the legal requirements to solve a case. I enjoy learning about these cases in a factual presentation rather than a more dramatic presentation. Mr. King's personality comes through in the conversations. The interviews flow and the listener (in my opinion) gets the impression that the guest and Mr. King have been friends or associates for a length of time. This genuine quality comes through in both these podcasts and the YouTube presentations. I hope y'all like it!

Great True Crime Channel!

One of the best most informative and channels out there!! Mike has quite a history in law enforcement and has interviewed serial killers such as Richard Ramirez and makes every part of a story informative!
