The controversy surrounding Prince Andrew and the Tramp nightclub stems from allegations made by Virginia Giuffre, who claims that in March 2001, when she was 17, she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to London and taken to the Tramp nightclub. Giuffre alleges that she danced with Prince Andrew there before being taken to a house in Belgravia, where she says she was sexually assaulted. The now-infamous photo showing Andrew with his arm around Giuffre’s waist, with Maxwell in the background, allegedly taken that same night, became one of the most damning pieces of evidence in the case. Witnesses later claimed to have seen the pair together at Tramp, fueling speculation that the prince’s relationship with Epstein and Maxwell was far closer than he had admitted publicly.
