It’s a busy edition of “The Parting Schotts Podcast.”

Host Ken Schott opens the podcast talking about Saturday’s Dutchman Shoes college football game between Union and RPI. Not only are the Shoes on the line, the Liberty League title is at stake. Schott has interviews from both teams. For Union, it’s head coach Jon Drach and quarterback Patch Flanagan. For RPI, it’s head coach Ralph Isernia and quarterback Anthony DeMatteo. Gazette executive sports editor and Union football beat writer Will Springstead gives his analysis of the game.

Gazette high school writer Drew Wemple previews this weekend’s Section 2 football tournament Super Bowls.

Gazette sportswriter Mike MacAdam discusses the life and legacy of former Saratoga Springs High School cross country and track and field coach Art Kranick, who died last Saturday at the age of 74.

Schott talks Union men’s and women’s hockey. The men host UMass Lowell on Friday and New Hampshire on Saturday. Schott has Union defensemen Nick Young and forwards Brandon Buhr and Carter Korpi.

Saturday’s game marks the return of former Union goalie Kyle Chauvette, who joined UNH out of the transfer portal. Schott talks with Chauvette and UNH head coach Mike Souza.

The Union women are off this weekend. Schott has interviews with head coach Tony Maci, defenseman Stephanie Bourque and forward Maddy Leaney.
