  • Episode 3895: Lubbock commissioner race (Pct. 4) gives lessons voters need to learn | Texas jobs – Pratt on Texas 1/12/2026
    Jan 13 2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: A GOP Lubbock County commissioner race features a candidate and former office holder who demonstrates some of the worst traits of an officeholder: 1) Willing to blatantly lie about his record, and 2) Wanting to be liked more than wanting to do the right thing promised to voters.

Way too many people get elected who end up wanting to be liked, a regular human trait, more than they want to be respected for doing what’s right or what they promised voters. About the only way to sift through candidates at election time is to look at their record. If they regularly stand up to do the right thing, especially in the face of big opposition, you can generally assume that behavior will continue. It’s always a crap shoot with those who have no officeholder or political activist record.

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: A needed clean-up comes from the Texas Supreme Court on the religious freedom issue of judges not performing same-sex so-called weddings but choosing to perform proper weddings. Notice how the bureaucracy continues to fight for the immoral position despite having lost in court.

  • Episode 3893: Azle ISD case shows moral decline of civic leadership | Feds clamp down on RGV illegal alien “charity” – Pratt on Texas 1/8/2026
    Jan 9 2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: The attitude and words of Azle ISD’s superintendent Todd Smith demonstrate not only the stench of local government but also the massive decline in our social morality and sense of ethics. It’s similar to what many of the apostate “churches” have adopted: Don’t be angry with the sin, just hate the bad attention it brings. I comment from Erin Anderson’s fine piece: Facing Lawsuit, Azle ISD Bemoans ‘Negativity’ of Sex Abuse Coverage.

  • Episode 3892: Some A&M profs behave like smart aleck children | More hypocrisy from Left on Maduro capture – Pratt on Texas 1/7/2025
    Jan 8 2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Some Texas A&M faculty behave like children – and the press pats them on the head encouraging such while telling us that the professors are victims of evil censorship. It’s really something all together different. I spend a good deal of time picking apart this story: Texas A&M blocks teaching of some Plato readings in philosophy class. (By the way, that headline is not entirely truthful.)

  • Episode 3891: Study: Dems as Godless as they appear | Hilton did no wrong | Big gains in Texas sales tax revenue – Pratt on Texas 1/6/2026
    Jan 7 2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Study: Democrats are as pagan and Godless as you would imagine, and it has gotten much worse. But we’re all in trouble because Republicans are less and less believers too – but not nearly to the extent of Dems, yet.

Good ol’ classy Crocked Crockett: Jasmine Crockett says ‘f— you’ to Supreme Court over new Texas districts. More. Notice a repeat of the classic hypocrisy of Dems: Justices are “illegitimate” if they disagree with Dems.

  • Episode 3890: Dems need arresting if Venezuela action illegal | AT&T knifes Dallas | U-Haul: Texas #1 again – Pratt on Texas 1/5/2026
    Jan 6 2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: There is plenty of irony in the U.S. action in Venezuela to go around. But, the biggest thing I’ve noticed is the utter nonsense being spewed by Democrats about the action being illegal. Jonathan Turley well covers that fact that this exact issue has already been litigated to the Supreme Court (a court Dems liked at the time.)

    Jan 1 2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: On display this last day of 2025 is more great Leftist, and Islamic, hypocrisy over the most basic of American rights. And as you’d expect, you get hateful speech from those decrying others’ speech as “hate speech.” These stories demonstrate it all:
