Welcome back to our latest episode of Holy to YHWH Movement the Pod, where we dive deep into the essence of holiness and what it means to be holy to YHWH. February is a special month for many reasons—it’s the month of love, Black History Month, and Presidents' Day, and yes, it’s our host Mel's birthday month!
In this episode, we explore the concept of "possession" as referenced in our focal scripture, 1 Peter 2:9-10. As "a people for His own possession," what does it truly mean to belong to God? Last week, we delved into the idea of being a Holy Nation (see episode titled "I Pledge Allegience"), and today, we build on that by examining the different dimensions of possession.
We’ll break down the definition of "possess" and discuss its negative connotations, such as spiritual and physical possession. However, we pivot to understand what it means to be a people for God's own possession.
