    In this week’s episode, Chris sits down with Mike Weber, CEO of elteve - a platform that enables Shopify and e-commerce merchants to leverage the extra real estate on shipping labels. This allows them to create and place cost effective QR code ads and personalized offers. Ultimately, they can utilize packaging space as advertising space. We discuss his passion for travel and his dream to take a year to simply travel the world. During those tough moments, he is motivated by his love to build, create and solve problems. To decompress, he enjoys reading or doing yoga. Regarding his legacy, he wants to be known as someone who empowers merchants and retailers in the direct consumer space. On a personal note, he hopes to have a family someday and stay healthy. Looking into the future, elteve is hoping to continue growing the business. Mike’s ultimate goal is to sell the company or have it acquired.

We discuss his time as an undergrad at UC Berkeley and the challenges that came along with it. He shares how it taught him how to come up with more creative solutions when faced with certain problems. During that 25th hour, he is motivated by his mentors and seeing where they’ve taken their businesses over time. Additionally, he is always reflecting about what would be best for his employees and customers. To escape reality, he enjoys spending time with family. Her advice to other entrepreneurs and founders is to hire a team of highly motivated individuals because those are the people that will produce the greatest amount of success.

Growing up, he actually wanted to create special effects for movies. We discuss his first startup and how they went through some hardships where they had to make some cuts. He shares how many of his co-workers were his friends and that made the decision even more challenging. From this experience, he learned the importance of empathy when it comes to making decisions like this.
