Pledge of Allegiance

In the aftermath of Prophet Muhammad's passing, peace and blessings be upon him, the Islamic community faced a pivotal moment: selecting a leader to uphold Islamic principles. Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may Allah have mercy on him, emerged as the unanimous choice, backed by influential figures like Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah have mercy on him, and supported by the broader Muslim community, including the Ansar and the Muhajirun.

Abu Bakr's sermon, delivered upon his pledge as the first Caliph, was crucial in outlining the principles of Islamic governance, emphasizing justice, support for the oppressed, communal participation, and the leader's accountability to divine and community principles.
