    About 50 people gathered at 20th and Market Streets Tuesday afternoon to call on Pennsylvania’s Senators to reject a budget reconciliation bill because it would increase funding for immigration enforcement, among other things. KYW Newsradio's Vik Raghupathi was there. An armed man arrested at a No Kings rally in West Chester over the weekend faces additional charges after a search of his Malvern home yielded an arsenal of explosive devices and other items. KYW Newsradio's John McDevitt reports. Much-needed state funding for Septa and other mass-transit across Pennsylvania is one step closer to the governor’s desk. The State House passed a plan that shifts more revenue to mass transit, and also lays the foundation for comprehensive transportation funding reform. KYW Newsradio Suburban Bureau Chief Jim Melwert reports. Early Friday morning a fire burned quickly through a rowhome in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city killing a pregnant mother and two children. Firefighters returned to the neighborhood Tuesday, installing smoke alarms. KYW Newsradio’s Matt Coughlin was there.

    The KYW Newsradio All Local on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 (evening edition): Philadelphia Police now say they have the car involved in a fatal hit-and-run on North Broad Street early Monday morning but are still looking for the driver. Early Friday morning, a fire burned quickly through a rowhome in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city killing a pregnant mother and two children. Firefighters returned to the neighborhood today, installing smoke alarms. Governor Josh Shapiro’s plan to fund public transit has passed in the House but still faces a major hurdle in the Pennsylvania Senate, and local and state officials are hitting the ground to promote it. The bill also sets aside additional funding for roads and takes steps for comprehensive transportation funding reform. As the region braces itself for a potential heatwave, officials in Delaware County are taking steps to make sure residents have the resources to stay safe.
