Persuasion, Chapter 16

Anne continues to acquaint herself with the ins and outs of daily life and society in Bath, which involves relations both old and new. When the Dowager Viscountess Dalrymple, a distant cousin, arrives in Bath, Anne for once wishes her father and sister had more pride, as they bend over backwards to make her acquaintance. At least she seemingly has a like-minded friend in Mr. Elliot, although Anne still harbors some suspicion about his motives. Nevertheless, he is her pleasantest acquaintance in Bath, and she'll take what she can. Anne is doing her best to make the most of Bath, and as she does, let her efforts help you make the most of your night with deep and restful sleep.
