IN CHRIST | The Letter to the Ephesians

The Apostle Paul found himself in prison and wrote a letter to the church in Ephesus. This church and this city was a launching point for Paul's ministry to the Mediterranean world, and this letter is a seminal work that provides a wonderful understanding of Paul's revolutionary theology.

As a reformed Pharisee, Paul intimately knows the Hebrew Scriptures. As one who encountered the living Christ, Paul has a high Christology. And it is this dynamic combination that moves Paul to emphasize an embodied theology of being IN CHRIST.

Each week we will explore a chapter - highlighting a pertinent topic. This will not be an exhaustive study of the letter to the Ephesians. It is recommended that you read along as we go.

  • EASTER! Bodies | Resisting WINNING & Insisting CONNECTION
    Apr 7 2026

Christ is Risen | Christ is Risen Indeed!

    BODIES | Resisting & Insisting

The word BODIES is multifaceted. Each one of us is a body. Collectively we comprise a body. Spiritually, we are to 'take eat, this is my body' and we are to be the body of Christ.

A BODY is also what they call you when a name is too dignifying for their hurtful purposes. Cells and cages full of bodies. Not somebodies, just bodies.

Over the course of the next 46 days, from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday, we will explore what it looks like for us to resist and insist that all bodies should experience good news. We will explore what it means to become a body (both communally and spiritually) that resists systemic injustice and insists on joy and generativity.

Feb 22 | Resisting Empire & Insisting Joy

Mar 1 | Resisting Lies & Insisting Reality (communion sunday)

Mar 8 | Resisting Ideology & Insisting Generativity (ringers of peace)

Mar 22 | Resisting Uniformity & Insisting Diversity (peace singers)

Mar 29 | Resisting Hierarchy & Insisting Kinship

Apr 3 | Resisting Violence & Insisting Justice (good friday)

Apr 5 | Resisting Winning & Insisting Connection (easter and communion)

The End Is Just The Beginning | BEHOLD: I am doing a new thing

Episode 7 of our Winter Series

Because faith traditions go back hundreds and even thousands of years, it’s natural for us to think that when we engage our faith we are trying to go back. Back to a time when the faith was practiced well. Back to a era when more people believed. Back to a season when faith was alive.

We even have phrases like, ‘We need to get back into the Bible.’

But when we explore the Scriptures there is a subtle movement happening. God is pushing things forward. Yes, God often reminders people to remember where they came from and what God has done in their past. But not so they can go back. But so that they can launch forward. God is doing a new thing.

    January 4th | New Thing

    January 11th | New Covenant

    January 18th | New Song

January 25th | Clear Eyes, Full Hearts

    February 1st | New Name

    February 8th | New Commandment

February 15th | New Heavens and New Earth
