Paul and Silas in Prison (June - Wk 2)

This week we looked at the story of Paul and Silas, who show us what it looks like to choose joy even in the middle of a not so joyful situation. They were thrown in jail, just for loving Jesus! But while others would have been downcast and hopeless, they chose to sing and praise God! And, their joy made some pretty big waves—so big that we're still talking about their story today!

Here are 4 simple ways that you can take this story of Joy and apply it to your family's daily routine this week. In the morning, go into your child's room & say: “Good morning! No matter what happens today, we can choose joy because Jesus can help us do everything!”. When you are putting your child down for a nap, pray this prayer out loud: “God, please help us choose joy, even when things don't go the way we want. Knowing that You love us so much that You gave us Jesus to be our friend forever is the greatest joy.”. In the car, ask your child: “What are some ways we can love others?”. You can even try this fun activity with your child during bath time! Add bathtub crayons to bath time. Tell your child to use them to draw smiley faces. Say: “Jesus can help us choose joy.”
