Karen Horner, Director of the Park County Library, announced that funding for the new Powell library has approved. Between ARPA funding and county funds, the total budget is over $11M. Now, the project has to get final approval on what to do with the current library branch with the new build. One idea suggested by the Park County Commissioners is to move the library to a temporary location in one of the buildings at the county fairgrounds. Also, bids will be put our for a general contractor and construction manager. The new building should be built in two years or less, then the library will be moved to it's current location in the new building.
