Allāh عَزَّ وَجَلَّ instructs the Prophet ﷺ to affirm that he only follows divine revelation and has no authority to change it. The verses highlight the irrationality of those who fabricate lies about Allāh عَزَّ وَجَلَّ or reject His signs, making it clear that the wrongdoers will never succeed. The passage also refutes the false belief in powerless intercessors besides Allāh عَزَّ وَجَلَّ and reminds that all of humanity was once united in faith before division arose. Lastly, the disbelievers’ demand for miraculous signs is addressed, reinforcing that the unseen is under Allāh’s عَزَّ وَجَلَّ control, and the Prophet ﷺ is commanded to remain patient.
