  • Mount Rainier - Three missing outdoorsmen
    Apr 16 2025

    Send us a text

    Release Date: April 16, 2025

Mount Rainier stands as one of America’s most breathtaking — and dangerous — natural landmarks. In this chilling episode, we examine three haunting disappearances that occurred on its icy slopes.

First, we dive into the 2010 vanishing of Eric Lewis — a seasoned climber who was roped in with his team, only to vanish near the summit without a sound, a footprint, or a trace. What could cause a man to disappear under such tightly controlled conditions?

Then, we revisit the mysterious case of MIT student Zachary Weston, who disappeared in 2005 after a solo hike to Snow Lake. No gear, no tracks, no answers.

Finally, we recount the heartbreaking 2020 disappearance of Vincent Renaldo Djie, a young man from Indonesia whose solo hike toward Mildred Point triggered one of the largest search efforts in the park’s history.

These cases raise unsettling questions: Are these simply accidents in harsh terrain? Or does something else linger in the fog-shrouded wilderness of Mount Rainier?

Tune in as we explore theories, discuss strange patterns, and honor the lives of those still missing.

📞 If you have information about any of the cases mentioned, please contact the appropriate authorities listed in the episode.

The Mount Jefferson Wilderness in Oregon is a breathtaking yet unforgiving landscape. In this episode, we examine two disappearances that have haunted the region since 2016.

On June 23, 2016, 59-year-old Sanford "Sandy" David Rice, an experienced outdoorsman, set out on a solo hiking trip near Marion Lake. He never returned. Despite extensive search efforts, no trace of him has ever been found.

Just a month later, 21-year-old Riley Zickel vanished while hiking alone near Jefferson Park. Unlike Rice, his remains were discovered three years later in a glacial area above Jefferson Park, a stark reminder of the unpredictable dangers of solo wilderness exploration.

What happened to Sandy Rice? Why did it take years to find Riley Zickel? These cases highlight the risks of the Cascade Mountain Range—dense forests, extreme terrain, and the unknown forces lurking within.
