POEM FROM TAMIL LITERATURE - HAZARDOUS JOURNEY

ABOUT THE POEM:

The poem titled HAZARDOUS JOURNEY a translated version of a poem from Tamil literature describes an anxious wife's troubled state of mind on thinking of the potential danger that her husband may encounter along the way back home. HAZARDOUS JOURNEY 

Young lad,

your darling lover

spent the night in restless slumber

pondering over the danger

that may befall her beloved

as you tread on your path,

wherein a wounded elephant

treads with muted strides,

keeping its ears tightly folded

fearing a potential onslaught

from the vicious tiger

that had mauled it once before.
