  • MIAMI WINS 38-10 vs Syracuse - Orange Bowl Boys 2025 Week 11 Recap Show
    Nov 9 2025

We come in HOT, despite a big win, even though Toast thinks we failed because we got hooked by the spread. To make his point, he jumps into the first 27 minutes of the game, after another brutally slow start before they got things going. Roman says a lot of that had to do with poor execution by JoJo Trader dropping key passes, and Scoop goes OFF about Miami getting into their bag with creative plays when it did not matter against Syracuse.

Toast remains angry that Miami did not cover the spread, but then again he played a drinking game on the live stream where he took a drink every time they ran outside... so today he's not sober. And as we run through the game stats, it starts to paint a picture about where Miami fell short and where they excelled. There are also some props to Girard Pringle for making the most of his 7 carries today, and what the path to 10 wins looks like and what it means for Miami in 2025.

We also go around the college football landscape and look at what the big losses of the week mean for Miami and the ACC. Scoop also breaks down all the "trick plays" that Miami ran this week, while Toast believes a lot of that was directed at this show (not to be narcissistic). And we look ahead to NC State, VA Tech and Pitt as we glance down the remaining schedule.

  • #411: Miami Week 11 vs Syracuse - What's Up Trevor?
    Nov 6 2025

We open the week after the big collapse against SMU with Toast already annoyed by pretty much everything that happened in the last week. And Roman announces that he got a coaching job with his son's JV team and he's really excited to take his knowledge of the game to the field with his kid. Plus when Roman brings up the College Football Playoff, everyone immediately melts down because of how bad the last two losses have been, and just how bad it looked. And Toast says the ACC disrespect stems entirely from all the poor scheduling by teams around the conference.

No one on the show is a huge fan of Dabo Swinney, but he became our hero this week when he had the beans to stand behind a podium and shout for accountability from the referees. Mario also ruffled a lot of feathers this week after saying SMU has just as much talent as Miami, which could only be true if they are out-developing all their players. All that to spin back to the reality that we actually have a game against Syracuse this week.

Miami is also projected for the TaxSlayer Bowl, which we all hate but feel is perfectly Miami, and at least it's not the Pop Tarts Bowl. And a shout out to Jai Lucas and the Miami Basketball team for getting a win on opening night, with a promising season ahead. Plus everyone drops their keys to a Syracuse win, which include critical down creativity, blowing out a bad team, defensive points, and covering in space. Scoop also wants to know that IF Miami decides to get creative on offense this week, why it would happen now instead of earlier in the season.

We close it out with some hilarious audio of BC coach Bill O'Brien going off on a reporter for asking a lame question, and a big round of Pick 'Ems that we really don't take seriously.

  • MIAMI LOSES 26-20 at SMU - Orange Bowl Boys 2025 Week 10 Recap Show
    Nov 2 2025

Well... seeing as the season just died, we open the show with TAPS. Toast goes right in on how anything less than an ACC Championship or a Playoff run in a failure, and here we are again with another failed season in November. And before we even get into the game, immediately the question of Mario's leadership and coaching are called to the carpet, largely because nothing is changing with his status and contract, and how this team under his leadership can navigate the future.

Roman goes to the stats to show exactly how they aren't adapting, and actually regressing in the months of November and December, logging a terrible 5-10 record in November and December the last few years. Scoop also talks about the insiders he talked to after the game saying SMU knew they were running up the middle every time they went there, and they refused to even try anything different. And of course the question about Dawson's play calling - and who is really pulling the strings - gets everyone's ire due to the lack of performance and lack of creativity.

The conversation then turns to the total lack of discipline by this team, with penalties racking up game-by-game and never seeming to improve, largely due to the false starts and holdings by the offensive line. Plus there are so many simple things that continue to fail, like the plays not coming in on time and burning timeouts because of it. There is also a lot of discussion about the future of the program as a whole, how the roster handles the downfall this season, and what that means for the next group of recruits waiting in the wings. We are upset, and frustrated, and just letting it all pour out tonight after a devastating loss.

  • #400: Miami Week 10 at SMU - She Dutch Ovens Him and He Lays Them on Your Forehead
    Oct 30 2025

We come out of the gate with some shade toward the offensive scheme, as Roman shares a story about surprising his daughter with a Tesla for her 16th birthday. And as we get down to Greentree we play the clip of Shannon Dawson clapping back at the media for the criticism of the running game, as Scoop sounds off on where it comes from and why Miami will refuse to change their scheme at this point. And from there we debate whether Miami has a talent issue or just a personnel management issue, especially in the run game.

Toast also brings up a wild stat about Miami ranking dead last in the conference in penalties called against them, especially since Rueben Bain is being held on almost every possession. And we discuss the argument on ESPN about Mario "running up the score" against Stanford, and whether or not that was done to cover the spread. And everyone's Keys to the Game include manageable second downs, effective running, using the screen game against SMU's defense, starting strong in an early game and how this is Carson Beck's game to win.

We also bounce around the big stories of the week, including what a turd Brian Kelly turned out to be as he exits his gig at LSU, and how the Louisiana governor is also now involved in the hiring of the next coach. Plus FSU's AD set the fan base on fire after taking up for Mike Norvell and how the biggest winner in that scenario is the University of Miami. We also touch on the wild NBA arrests this week, and Cam Newton two-piecing the Alabama A&M mascot. And as always we close it out with a big round of Pick 'Ems, and our prediction for the Miami-SMU game.

  • MIAMI WINS 42-7 vs Stanford - Orange Bowl Boys 2025 Week 9 Recap Show
    Oct 26 2025

It's the Recap Show!! Miami dominated the second half of the game to finish off a 42-7 win over Stanford. And to keep it positive, we start with the second half of the game because there were a lot of issues with the first half. The defense adjusted and completely shut down Stanford in the second half, holding them in total to as many yards in the second half as they had on the first drive of the game. With seven games in the books, Ro declares that the defense is legit, even though Toast wants to know if they will hold up against good teams until the offense figures out what they're doing.

Mark Fletcher also had a monster game, with three touchdowns and over 100 yards, even though he continued to run the ball between the tackles and eventually wore the Stanford defense down... which means they will likely continue to push that same running game, even though we all want more variety. Ro was also happy with Carson Beck's performance, even though he didn't have a monster game and was victimized by some drops by the wide receivers. And everyone marvels at the talent of Malachi Toney, who might be one of the best players we've ever seen at Miami. Plus it was great to have our friend Roddy Jones on the call.

BUT... we get around to the UGLY first half... and Scoop was at the game, with an up-close look at just how bad it was in the stadium for the first 30 minutes. It starts with the run game, which was the same from last week, you just were able to wear down Stanford's line, a game plan that won't work against better opponents. He is also frustrated at how easy it is to see what Miami is going to run offensively as they line up, and this from fans who just know a little bit of ball.... which means professionals are going to be able to pick them to pieces unless they change something.

The conversation turns from the offensive struggles and lack of creativity, into how this team's DNA will fail them in the Playoffs if they don't try to adjust. The lack of adjustments in the run game, the complete lack of vertical passing, and the lack of tight end use has everyone questioning the approach as we get into the most meaningful part of the season. Toast is frustrated with the screens (sound familiar?) and even the broadcasters are questioning why we stopped throwing it downfield. Regardless of the win, there are a lot of concerns as we head into a noon kick at SMU next week. And everyone has some mixed projections about the final five games of the season.

  • #399: Miami Week 9 vs Stanford - We Did Not Land on the Moon
    Oct 23 2025

We all come in hot this week, as everyone has so much going on this week, and we try to make sense of all the bad narratives flying around the Canes this week. Ro also opens with news that his daughter now has her license and is out driving around as we speak, with a surprise car coming her way in the next week. And as we head down to Greentree, Toast rolls out the narrative about Miami that he has accepted... which is how different the postseason picture is today versus 10 years ago, and the bye week scheduling shooting them in the foot.

Scoop also takes exception with Shannon Dawson's comments about the running game and how "it is what it is", because he wants more from him than that, largely because Miami continues to run between the tackles and nothing else. And the debate rages about how elementary Miami's offense has been and how easy it was for Louisville to blow up their game plan. And the defense's 26 missed tackles didn't help either. But Ro expects a big bounce back game from Carson Beck, marking the mess against Louisville as an outlier in his college career.

We also try to do the playoff math to figure out if it's more beneficial for Miami to be left out of the ACC Championship Game rather than to go and lose and try to fight for a bid with 2 losses. And everyone lays out their keys to the game - which this week includes spreading out the running game, cutting out the false starts, "execution", tightening up the tackling and rebounding with dominance. Plus amazing audio of the week from a young Jets fan who hates his team, the amazing heist at the Louvre in France and a big round of Pick 'Ems that devolves into a conversation about head coaches.

  • MIAMI LOSES 24-21 vs Louisville - Orange Bowl Boys Week 8 Recap Show
    Oct 18 2025

Well... that sucked. Darth Toast is fully cloaked for a really tough recap show as the Canes were out coached and out played last night in Miami, dropping their first game of the year to Louisville. Of course the blame game takes over right out of the gate, with coaching coming into question and Carson Beck's interceptions ruining the party. Initially we didn't realize how good Louisville really was coming into this game but they showed us quickly how ready for the Canes they were.

Scoop said the linebackers in coverage would be something to pay attention to going into the game, and sure enough Louisville seized on that with their scheme. Roman starts to pull on the strings that got exposed last night, and the biggest one was that Louisville found a way to out-muscle the Canes and push them around. And we get deep into the FOUR interceptions last night from Carson Beck, as Roman is already into the film study and breaks down which of those were truly on Carson and which were just great plays by Louisville.

And the conversations with other Canes fans - and our families - have been wrapped up on that final drive where Carson threw the game-ending pick, and whether Miami should have run the ball to try and tie the game knowing that Beck was not having a good night. Roman is also concerned that Beck's performance last night might have lost him the team's support, and it will be on him to rally, but the Heisman hopes to bed and find a way to win down the stretch. Plus Scoop is concerned that he may have been right about his apprehensions with the wide receivers - because we have two studs, and not much else.

Without making excuses, we have to call out the HORRIBLE officiating from the ACC officials, specifically the lack of offsides calls on Louisville and the call that took a Miami touchdown off the board on the punt return. And we do not understand how such terrible officiating is allowed to continue without any consequence. Miami also has to win out now to even have a shot at the ACC Championship Game, which is a tall order in college football today. All this and a LOT more to digest as we get into the specifics of this back-breaking loss to Louisville... and it's ugly.

  • #398: Miami Week 8 vs Louisville - Your Covers Better Corner
    Oct 16 2025

It's Louisville week in Miami, and the Canes sit once again at #2 in the Top 25. Scoop opens with an interesting question about whether Hetherman or Dawson gets hired away first - and while Dawson's name is in the mix for a lot of jobs, we're not sure if he's got the drive to run a full program. Roman is also a little slighted about the conference bias that a lot of networks put on full display this time of year. And everyone wants to know why Heather Dinich is the only voice that speaks on behalf of the ACC.

Of course James Franklin's dismissal from Penn State, and the sheer mountain of coaching jobs that are (or about to become) available and how the college football world will be completely turned upside down when the dust settles. There are also some great mid-season awards to hand out as four Canes are early All-Americans and high honors for Malachi Toney, Bryce Fitzgerald and others. And then it's all about Louisville as we break down how the Louisville offense will match up with the rolling Miami defense.

We also take fans to "College Football Court" as we air out our grievances with the media and fans so far this season. And Dana White leans in as the newest Miami NIL booster and says he's officially a Canes fan. Plus everyone offers their keys to a Miami win against Louisville, which include checking Miller Moss, letting the defense eat (especially with the front four), the committee of running backs dominating, limiting mistakes and knowing how to finish Louisville late in the game.

Plus Kenny Dillingham's great speech about accountability in college football (which is really rare in today's game) and the Texas A&M fan who blew a .337 during the Florida game. And we close it up with a big round of Pick 'Ems, including Ole Miss vs Georgia, Georgia Tech at Duke, Tennessee at Alabama and of course everyone's pick and score for Louisville at Miami.
