This is part 2 of my conversation with Shelby County Resident and retired principal, John Strong, Jr. We begin this part of our time together with his first year teaching at Brunswick Jr. High School in Brunswick, TN. Just as soon as he started his teaching career, he was drafted into the United States Army. He returned home in 1954, and began teaching at Geeter High School in Whitehaven, TN. He soon became a principal where he lead teachers, students, and communities through some turbulent times in the 1960's and 1970's.
