  • The Five Essential Relationships Every Believer Needs
    Mar 30 2026

Welcome to another episode of Open Table, the podcast of Discover Life Church where every conversation is on the table. Each week, our pastors and staff sit down to dive deeper into Sunday’s message, explore biblical truths, and talk about real-life issues that impact your faith, family, and future. In this powerful exploration of Christian relationships, we discover that the connections we build on earth are the only treasures we can carry into eternity. The conversation unpacks three essential types of relationships every believer needs: guidance relationships that save us time, energy, and pain; mentor relationships modeled after Paul's instruction to 'imitate me as I imitate Christ'; and celebration relationships where people champion our journey. The guidance we receive must come from the right sources—people heading in the right direction who understand our context. Even more profound is the mentor relationship, which requires us to be active pursuers rather than passive recipients. Like Elisha following Elijah, we must chase after wisdom, invest our time and resources, and honor those who pour into us. Finally, we need cheerleaders in our lives who celebrate our victories, echoing Jesus' words in John 14:28 about rejoicing together. These relationships aren't luxuries but necessities for spiritual growth, reminding us that we weren't designed to navigate faith alone but in community with others who sharpen, guide, and celebrate us.Whether you’re part of Discover Life Church or tuning in from across the world, pull up a chair and join the conversation. At the table, you’ll find encouragement, practical wisdom, and fresh perspective for following Jesus in everyday life.

  • Building and Protecting a Kingdom Growth Culture
    Mar 23 2026

Welcome to another episode of Open Table, the podcast of Discover Life Church where every conversation is on the table. Each week, our pastors and staff sit down to dive deeper into Sunday’s message, explore biblical truths, and talk about real-life issues that impact your faith, family, and future. What if the key to lasting growth in our churches, homes, and personal lives isn't found in programs or strategies, but in something far more fundamental: culture? This conversation unpacks a powerful truth that challenges conventional thinking about building communities of faith. We discover that while we can have multiracial congregations, we cannot have multicultural churches because every community must have one defining culture—the kingdom culture. Like potato soup that maintains its essence while varying in ingredients, our church culture is shaped by doctrine, worship style, preaching, and countless other elements that create a unique flavor. The wisdom shared here reveals that growth doesn't happen by accident; it requires intentionally cultivating a growth culture that removes both spiritual barriers (troops) and physical obstacles (walls). Whether it's unforgiveness blocking our personal development or a poorly maintained facility hindering church growth, these barriers must be identified and removed. The principle of maintaining integrity through difficult seasons—doing what's right rather than what's easy—echoes throughout this teaching. We're reminded that there's never a right time to do a wrong thing, and that protecting our culture sometimes requires making hard decisions. This isn't just about church leadership; it's about stewarding every area of life with intentionality, from our marriages to our careers, always asking: Do we have a growth culture?Whether you’re part of Discover Life Church or tuning in from across the world, pull up a chair and join the conversation. • The Currency of the Kingdom: Stewarding Strategic Relationships
    Mar 16 2026

Welcome to another episode of Open Table, the podcast of Discover Life Church where every conversation is on the table. Each week, our pastors and staff sit down to dive deeper into Sunday’s message, explore biblical truths, and talk about real-life issues that impact your faith, family, and future.

In this powerful exploration of relationships, we discover that they are the very currency of God's kingdom on earth. The conversation reveals how Jesus Himself modeled strategic relationship investment by spending time with only two groups: those who received His ministry and those who ministered to Him. This isn't about being exclusive or prideful, but about being wise stewards of the time and emotional energy God has given us. We learn that not every relationship is meant to go deep, and that's okay. The story of Zacchaeus climbing the tree illustrates how Jesus invested in those who were genuinely seeking Him, while He confronted but didn't pursue those who merely criticized. This challenges us to evaluate our own relationships: Are we wasting emotional energy trying to make someone love us who simply won't reciprocate? Are we protecting and investing in the relationships that bear fruit? The enemy's greatest strategy is to steal our relationships because they are our greatest asset. When we understand that some relationships are investable and others aren't, we free ourselves to pour into those connections that will multiply kingdom impact in both directions.

  • Protecting the Currency of the Kingdom: Stewarding Your Relationships
    Mar 9 2026

In our journey of faith, we often underestimate the spiritual warfare surrounding our most precious relationships. This conversation unveils a sobering truth: Satan doesn't attack what's worthless, he targets what's valuable. Just as no one tries to steal a rusted car on blocks, the enemy focuses his efforts on the relationships God has given us to bless and strengthen our walk with Him. We see this pattern from the very beginning—Satan didn't attack Adam until Eve was present, using that sacred relationship to separate them from God. The challenge we face today is learning to protect what matters most. Like storing valuables in a safe, we must put intentional layers of protection around our God-given relationships. This means fighting for them through forgiveness, humility, and refusing to let offenses take root. Proverbs 18:13 warns us that addressing matters without knowing the facts is folly—yet how often do we allow one statement, one misunderstanding, or one offense to destroy years of blessing? The relationships God places in our lives, whether with spiritual mentors, friends, or family, are eternal investments. They're worth fighting for, worth protecting, and worth the sacrifice it takes to maintain them. When we value relationships properly, we don't just see positions or what people can do for us—we see the divine connections God has orchestrated for our growth and His glory.

  • Relationships are the Currency of the Kingdom
    Mar 2 2026

Welcome to another episode of Open Table, the podcast of Discover Life Church where every conversation is on the table. Each week, our pastors and staff sit down to dive deeper into Sunday’s message, explore biblical truths, and talk about real-life issues that impact your faith, family, and future.

What if the size of our miracle depends not just on our faith, but on the depth of our relationships? This powerful exploration takes us into the story of the widow in 2 Kings 4, revealing a profound truth: while our faith determines the quality of our miracle, our relationships determine the quantity. When the prophet told the widow to borrow vessels from her neighbors, he was teaching us that relationships are the currency of the kingdom. The woman's miracle wasn't limited by God's power but by how many jars she could gather from those around her. This challenges us to examine our own lives. Are we investing in authentic relationships, or are we isolating ourselves? The message reminds us that relationships are the only eternal thing we can take with us, whether to heaven or hell. We can influence others for eternity through the connections God gives us. This isn't about using people for what they can give us, but recognizing that God designed us to need each other. When we face our desperate moments, we discover who our true friends are and how valuable those connections become. The call here is clear: become a people person, cultivate meaningful relationships, and recognize that the borrowed vessels in our lives may hold the overflow we desperately need.

What does it truly mean to operate in the grace God has given us? This conversation about church growth and multi-site expansion reveals a profound spiritual principle: we must stay within the boundaries of our divine calling and anointing. When we examine the journey of planting multiple church campuses, we discover that kingdom impact isn't about copying someone else's vision or chasing impressive numbers. But the key insight isn't the growth itself—it's the discernment to know where grace exists. We're reminded that grace is another word for the anointing we receive for specific assignments.
