  • Despite being the biggest rock band in the world, the Rolling Stones were deeply in debt in 1972. So they packed up their mobile recording studio, and headed to the French Riviera to record in an old mansion that was once a Nazi headquarters. It was a month-long party marked by wild debauchery, but it also resulted in one of rock's all-time greatest albums.
