In this inspiring episode of Climate & Cuisine, host Jane DeMarines sits down with Saurabh Dalal, a lifelong ethical vegan, physicist, and environmental advocate, to explore how shifting to a plant-based lifestyle can transform our planet’s future.
Saurabh shares his journey from multi-generational vegetarian roots to becoming vegan in 1991 — a decision grounded in compassion and science. Together, Jane and Saurabh dive into the hard truths about animal agriculture, its devastating environmental impact, and why eating plants is one of the most effective actions anyone can take to combat climate change.
They also discuss the rise of vegan communities in cities like Washington, DC, and New York, the work of the DC Veg Society, and how collective action, awareness, and compassion can create a more sustainable world.
💡 Discover how one plate can help cool the planet — and why vegan living is a win-win for people, animals, and the Earth.
