  • Entrepreneurship is Like Jumanji
    Jun 24 2025

What’s good family?! This week we’re sitting down with Zach King, serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Residency, to talk about how he’s building a $100 million brand from scratch. No gimmicks or handouts; just vision, grit, and belief when no one else could see it.

Zach takes us back to his roots in Tampa, his boarding school days, and the college hustle that helped him build a network before he even had a business. He breaks down how he scaled 30 restaurants in two years and what that grind taught him about leverage, leadership, and long-term thinking.

But this convo goes way deeper than just the story. This is a business podcast for real ones: founders, creatives, and builders who want the behind-the-scenes game. We talk about branding, scaling, team dynamics, and what it really takes to grow a business from nothing. Zach gets honest about leading while scared, setting vision when no one else sees it, and staying grounded under pressure.

We also dive into culture, identity, and the personal stuff most people don’t talk about. What it means to lead as a Black man. What payday meant in his household. How masculinity shaped his business style, and how he’s redefining success on his own terms.

Residency isn’t just fashion. It’s legacy. It’s community. It’s owning your narrative. If you’re building something from scratch and want the mindset, moves, and mistakes behind the mission, this episode is for you.

Tap in. This one’s a blueprint!

    Jun 17 2025

What''s good family?!?! This week we’re diving deep into the world of nutrition, metabolism, and the real reasons why so many people struggle to lose weight, no matter how hard they try. We sat down with Emma from Desert Dietitians, a registered dietitian who keeps it all the way real about what’s holding folks back. Spoiler: it’s not just about willpower or calories. From food culture in America to ancient biology, this episode pulls back the curtain on how the modern food system and our own brains are working against us.

The heart of this convo? Emma breaks down the 5 Pillars of Metabolic Health: a framework that can literally change the way you think about weight loss. We’re talking hormones, gut health, calories, metabolism, and mindful eating. This isn’t your typical “eat less, move more” advice. Emma drops knowledge on how to work with your body instead of fighting it, how to improve your hormone balance naturally, and why NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) might be the secret weapon. If you’ve ever felt stuck in a cycle of dieting and frustration, this is your wake-up call.

We also get into the mental and emotional side of eating. We talk about how stress, emotions, and even your childhood can shape your relationship with food. Emma shares real stories, real strategies, and keeps the science digestible. Jun 10 2025

What''s good family?!?! This week, we stepped out of our usual studio to record at one of Las Vegas's most stunning fitness destinations: SVG3 Fitness. Owner Chris Merafuentes graciously opened his doors to us, sharing both his incredible space and his inspiring story.

Chris walked us through his unconventional path to gym ownership. He tells us about a journey that began with him scraping together money he didn't have just to access the conversations at an upscale gym. He'd sit in the sauna, absorbing the positive energy and inspiration from other members, knowing those moments were shaping his future.

From there, we dive into Chris's winding career path: Navy service, electrician training, surgical tech school, and bartending. Despite earning good money behind the bar, something was missing. The day he walked away from financial security to pursue personal training changed everything. Nearly a decade of grinding through the fitness industry ranks led him to where he is today, running his own thriving gym.

This conversation goes deep. Chris opens up about his darkest moment when he nearly gave up on life entirely, and how he transformed that pain into purpose. We explore what it means to truly own not just a business, but own your life. This being achieved by knowing how to build something meaningful alongside the people you love.

Hit play for an honest, inspiring conversation about resilience, following your gut, and creating the life you actually want to live.

  • Shannon Sharpe Shakedown
    Apr 29 2025

What's good family welcome to the internal episode for the month of April. Thanks for rocking with us week in and week out and we apologize for not releasing an episode last week.

We start off the episode by going over the recent allegations against Shannon Sharpe aka Uncle Shay Shay of the Club Shay Shay podcast and Night Cap show with fellow NFL hall of famer Chad Ochocinco. Shannon, 56, was accused of grape-ing 20 year old OF model Gabriella Zuniga and is being sued for 50 million dollars! The only catch is, the relationship appears to have started off (and remain) consensual and the attorney representing Gabby is none other than the infamous Tony Buzbee, the notorious attorney who has represented clients against Sean Diddy Combs, Jay Z, Deshaun Watson, Andrew Tate, and more. So the question remains; did Shannon Sharpe do it? and will this cost him his reportedly 100 million media deal?

And next up in the news we have Shedeur Sanders plummeting in the 2025 NFL Draft. At one point touted as the next superstar with the last name Sanders to hit the league and a guaranteed first round pick (many mock drafts had him top 5 and some even as the first overall pick), he ended up falling all the way down to the 5th round in the NFL draft to be taken 144th overall by the Cleveland Browns. We'll see how his career goes but so far it hasn't gotten off to the greatest start.

We closed off the episode with an assorted list of topics: we talked about the latest list of artists on the XXL magazine, we talked about our favorite white people sayings/phrases, and we covered the trending "who would win in a fight a gorilla or 100 humans?", INDULGE!!!
