In this episode Richard Mosley, Global Client Director at Universum, together with our host Claes Peyron – Managing Director for Nordics & UK at Universum, talk about gender differences in the labour market.
The inspiration for this topic is Claudia Goldin - the 2023 Nobel laureate in Economics. She has studied the female participation in the labour market over the past 200 year and uncovered the reasons for gender gaps in earnings and labour force participation.
Richard and Claes connect the findings from Goldin’s research to Universum's newly released global student survey. In the annual career survey, the students are among other things asked about pay expectations as well as career preferences. Richard draws connections between the studies and highlights some surprising findings.
They also discuss what employers should think about if they want to attract more of a balanced set of talent.
