Building a Storm Shelter for your Soul

In episode 24 we will use an illustration of how some U.S. Gulf South locals stubbornly, although maybe considered foolish, will "ride out" a hurricane by sheltering in place. This illustrated is used to show how being confident is a requirement to face life storms, not whether they are physical or spiritual. Building confidence in believers that may be afraid of life's storms is where we see in Mark's Gospel when the disciples faced a natural storm and Jesus calmed the storm as means of the disciplines witnessing the Lord's power.

Therefore, could it be that a believer’s time of crisis is a process that the Lord initiates to bring into existence a means to demonstrate His power to you, and thus giving you an opportunity to learn more about Him. And so thereby, we can build a “Storm Shelter” for our soul through faith, your faith being strengthen through your previous experiences of deliverance. Furthermore, there is no other more intimate experience that will make you spiritually confident then being up and close to a terrible storm, including also being close to total disaster, and then having the Lord rescue you miraculously at the last minute.

  • Praying For The Heavenly Father's Will To Be Done
    Jul 13 2025

This episode focuses on aiding the believer's prayer life by placing God's Will as a top priority. However, why is this important. It is important because as sinful beings, we often focus on self-gratification, but the gospels urge believers to align their purpose with God's will. Jesus instructs followers to prioritize the Heavenly Father's will in prayer. This emphasizes that a Christian's conversation with God should center on this. This approach encourages reliance on God's wisdom, as demonstrated by Jesus' acceptance of suffering before His crucifixion. And finally it is important to understand that reflecting on past instances where we embraced God's will, especially during hardships, can strengthen our resolve for future challenges.

  • Living Out James: Concern For America's Poor
    Jul 7 2025

This episode is based on how as Christians in America, we live in abundance, yet poverty persists amidst wealth. The contrast between material richness and the growing number of impoverished individuals highlights a spiritual maturity issue among believers. Many ignore the plight of the poor, contradicting Christian ethics. The Book of James addresses this by condemning favoritism based on wealth and emphasizing love for neighbors through the rightful treatment of the poor. Praying for the poor aligns Christians with God's perspective, fostering humility and compassion, as “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6, ESV).
