Old Master Paintings & Artemisia Gentileschi

Abi Tavener and Anna Gammans are joined by Sotheby's Old Master Paintings Specialist, Edoardo Roberti, for a insight into one of the departments at the very heart of the auction house. Beginning in the 13th century and stretching right through to the 19th century, the Old Master Paintings team specialise in European works spanning seven centuries, and comprising some of the biggest names in art history, from Raphael and Michelangelo to Rembrandt and Rubens.

Tune in to hear more about Artemisia Gentileschi, currently the star of a major new retrospective at London's The National Gallery, David Teniers the Younger, whose large and riotous painting of a wine harvest will be offered at auction in Sotheby's Old Master Paintings Evening Auction this December 10, and Sandro Botticelli, whose 'Portrait of a Young Man Holding a Roundel' will be offered at Sotheby's New York in January 2021, with an estimate in excess of $80 million.
